Well, it's that time of the year again when we reminisce, wonder where the year's gone, assess ourselves and make new year's resolutions that we know we won't keep! It's a time of new beginnings and fresh starts that most of the times don't last very long after the fireworks have died down. But for me, it's really different this time round because I really will be starting new in every sense! Next year is going to be SOOOO different it's CRAZY! Not only will I have a new job (the best job in the world if you ask me! ) but I'll be leaving home, living in a new country, meeting new people, making new friends, etc. I'll even have a different mobile number!!! I'll be completely uncomfortable and nomadic. I've been trying to think what the best way to prepare myself is and I think besides praying (number one!), it's to look back on what got me to where I am now. This year has been hectic! * I said bye to one family of mission partners (Victorinos) and hello to another (Manalads). * I got my first ever pet ... my fishes! * We started the year off well with DIVE and followed up with entry camp after entry camp. * I became a grandmummy when my fishes gave birth! * I got my P's (provisional driver's license) ... FINALLY!!! * I missed my first Oceania conference since 2000! * My fishes had more babies * I went to VIENNA, AUSTRIA!!! * I went to WORLD GAT!!! * I went to POLAND!!! * I went to my first GLOBAL LEADERS FORUM!!! * I went to ROME, ITALY!!! Like I was in VATICAN and in the SISTINE CHAPEL!!! * We laid to rest one of the most loving and generous people I know ... Tita Emmie * My upper and lower households this year have been awesome! * We ended the year well with the Power Bootcamp and our cool Christmas party! And now, I'm going to go and live a completely different life! I NEVER, I repeat, NEVER EVER expected at the beginning of the year that this is how I'd be ending the year. To be honest I expected that after Europe I'd find another job or else prepare to go study again and then I'd "retire" as cluster head at the end of the year and concentrate on my career, family and relationship next year. It's so true how God can just take your plans and give you something greater than you could ever have dreamed of! 2006 has had it's high's and low's like all other years but it's been a great year. I feel 2007 is going to bring big changes, different adventures, new experiences and rewarding challenges! I think it's going to be a year to truly remember and I'm so excited! It's kinda fitting how all this is happening in 2007 eh? Seven being a heavenly number and all Hehe! So what's my new year's resolutions? Hmmm ... I resolve to not have any expectations, to be open to everything, to be more loving, to live each and every day to the fullest, to start and end each day with a smile, but above all to place complete trust and hope in God! It's going to be a BIG year!!! Well, I will probably not be able to blog for a while so I hope you all have an extra special and very MERRY CHRISTMAS and a blessed and prosperous new year!!! See you in 2007!!! GOD BLESS! |
